About Yoga

What is Yoga ?
Yoga is an ancient discipline which works on keeping the whole person healthy:

The physical body - use it or lose it

Emotions - Enabling the body and mind to relax

Mental Health - Stopping the mind chatter and focussing the mind

Breathing - Controlling the breath helps with physical, emotional and mental health
Yoga is non-competitive and inclusive. We all bring different bodies and life stories to the mat. Modifications are all always given and props, such as blocks, are available to help with getting into and holding poses. Yoga is about doing no harm and learning to tune into our own body, emotions, mind and breath.
What happens in one of my yoga classes ?

A few minutes of settling quietly into the practice

Some gentle movement to warm up the body

Yoga poses - modifications given for different bodies and injuries

Counter poses to leave the body feeling balanced
